The Cyberspace Administration informed that the initiative will be developed in two stages under the “Qinglang” (Clear and Clean) campaign, focused on creating a safer digital environment for children and teenagers.
The first phase will coincide with the summer holidays and prioritize the removal of harmful content throughout the entire information production and dissemination online.
The second phase will focus on regulating the recommendation systems of digital platforms, strengthening control over educational content, and optimizing the so-called “child mode” incorporated into applications and smart devices.
The Cyberspace Administration underscored that the campaign aims to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of children, strengthen the accountability of digital platforms, and improve the online environment to foster the healthy development of children and adolescents.
