In a statement, the organization condemned the document released on July 20—labeling it a “new imperial slander”—and maintained that it constitutes an attempt to discredit the Cuban Revolution.
The Amcrp asserted that the text aims to portray Havana as a threat to the United States, whereas, it noted, it is Washington that allocates millions of dollars annually to programs designed to destabilize the island, intensify the economic blockade, and fund actions against the Cuban government.
Likewise, it supported the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) that the report seeks to manufacture consensus to justify potential military aggression against the largest of the Antilles.
The association also rejected Cuba’s continued inclusion on the U.S. list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, asserting that the designation lacks evidence, while denouncing the impunity enjoyed by individuals responsible for violent acts against the Cuban people from U.S. territory.
The Cuban residents also reaffirmed their support for Cuba’s right to develop friendly relations with all nations based on respect for international law, and reiterated their backing for the struggle to lift the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by Washington.
The Foreign Ministry further noted in its message that opposition to the economic blockade and threats of aggression against the Caribbean nation is growing within the United States, including among sectors of the Cuban community and their descendants.
