In a statement released on the eve of the 73rd anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the organization affirmed that it maintains “the same fervor as those fierce attackers” who, led by Fidel Castro, carried out the actions of July 26, 1953.
It remembered that, during the centenary year of Jose Marti’s birth, those revolutionaries “took up the goal of being free or becoming martyrs,” and underscored that this determination “remains steadfast and enduring, serving as an inspiring example for defying and overcoming the current challenges facing our Homeland.”
The association maintained that Cuba faces a scenario in which “Yankee imperialism and its cohorts seek to strangle our people and their right to self-determination—to remain free and independent”—while expressing its rejection of any attempt at aggression against the island.
“We vigorously protest against any attempt at armed aggression, the use of force, or further violence,” the statement noted.
Furthermore, it denounced “the existence of a genocidal blockade against our people for more than six decades,” which, it asserted, “has failed to break us.”
The statement also reaffirmed ANCREB-JM’s support for “a world of peace, egalitarian relations, and solidarity, and [its stance] against any hegemony and unilateralism, and against the unjust and criminal blockade.”
