The city of Omsk, in Western Siberia, is hosting the 22nd Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum on July 24 and 25, and according to the Kremlin statement, both leaders will participate in the event.
“Prior to the Forum’s plenary session, Putin and Tokayev will examine current topics regarding cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan during a bilateral meeting,” the statement notes.
The Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum, attended by the heads of state of both countries, has been held since 2003 and serves as a key mechanism for dialogue between Moscow and Astana.
During this meeting, priorities for bilateral cooperation are analyzed with the aim of improving the standard of living for the populations of both countries by strengthening trade, economic, humanitarian, cultural, and scientific ties between their regions.
