So far, no casualties or serious material damage have been reported.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) stated that the earthquake occurred at 00:08 hours (local time, with its epicenter two kilometers west of Pizzone, and registered a depth of 10.3 kms.
The tremor was also felt in the central regions of Lazio and Abruzzo and the southern region of Campania, causing fear among the population and prompting the mobilization of authorities and local protection and security services, who remain on alert.
INGV experts noted that significant damage was observed across the entire central Italian region, from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea, particularly in the provinces of Isernia, Frosinone, L’Aquila, and Campobasso.
