The Lebanese Presidency informed that the two leaders discussed, over the phone, the general situation in Lebanon and the region, in light of recent events.

During the conversation, Aoun briefed Macron on the results of his visit to the United States and his meetings with President Donald Trump and other US officials.

The discussions focused on the situation in Lebanon and the phase following the framework agreement reached in June among Lebanon, the United States, and Israel, as well as the mechanisms for its implementation.

The Lebanese Presidency noted that Aoun and Macron examined the ongoing Israeli attacks on villages and towns in the south and agreed on the need to halt them and respect the ceasefire.
