The Ministry of Commerce previously announced the measure on July 24 to restrict trade with those entities, in accordance with the Export Control Law and the Regulation on Export Control of Dual-Use Items.
The institution noted that this measure aims at safeguarding national security and interests, and complies with international non-proliferation obligations.
The measure bans Chinese exporters from supplying dual-use items to the 14 entities, as well as impedes organizations or individuals abroad from transferring or facilitating the supply of such products originating in China to those entities.
The Ministry stated that ongoing activities must cease immediately and noted that, in exceptional cases, exporters may request special authorization from that institution.
A spokesperson from the Ministry affirmed that the decision is a response to the July 23 publication of the 21st package of EU sanctions on Russia, which included 14 companies from mainland China and Hong Kong.
