The diplomat gave a lecture on the island’s situation to an audience of about one hundred people at the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
She explained that the 176 measures, grouped into 23 key areas, reflect the sovereign will, ingenuity, and creative response needed to defend the Homeland and the Revolution amidst the most cruel and prolonged US blockade, which has lasted 67 years.
“I appreciate the exchange and the attention given to the complex situation facing Cuba, besieged by an intensified, illegal, and criminal economic, energy, and media blockade, with a further threat that does not rule out military aggression,” Viant stated.
At the Academy, she was received by Khambay Malaysia, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party and vice-rector of the aforementioned scientific, educational, and training institution. Chaleune Yiaoahoeur, president of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association, also participated in the meeting and delivered another message of support for the island.
