In a televised address following a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Erdogan noted that the region is going through one of its most difficult periods in recent years.

“The current Israeli government, which has become dependent on war, continues to push the region toward instability through provocations and maneuvers,” he declared.

The leader denounced Israel for progressively occupying Palestinian territories, infringing upon fundamental rights, and violating international law.

He further asserted that the occupation, illegal settlements, and policies of displacement, intimidation, and repression directed against Palestinians in the West Bank—as occurred in Gaza—constitute the primary source of regional instability.

Erdogan also commemorated the 52nd anniversary of the so-called Peace Operation in Cyprus, stating that July 20, 1974, marked a turning point that guaranteed the existence, freedom, and security of Turkish Cypriots within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He noted that Turkiye acted at the time by virtue of its rights and responsibilities as a guarantor power under international agreements, and maintained that the intervention put an end to injustices against the Turkish Cypriot community.
