The event takes place this weekend in front of the Pacaembu Stadium, in the western part of Brazil’s largest city, where the public can sample over 400 traditional dishes from every continent.
Driven by the “Cola em Sampa” initiative, the festival aims to connect visitors with diverse cultures through gastronomy—viewed by the organizers as a key expression of identity and a means of exchange between peoples.
Attendees will find traditional recipes from countries such as Jamaica, Tunisia, Malaysia, India, and Nepal, alongside specialties representing various regions of the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Oceania, according to *Agencia Brasil*.
BThe program also includes musical and artistic performances inspired by different cultures, international handicraft displays, and activities showcasing the customs and cultural expressions of the participating nations.
Priscila Arantes, co-founder of “Cola em Sampa,” explained to the Brazilian media outlet that the festival’s goal is to offer an experience that allows people to travel the world without leaving Sao Paulo, while sparking public interest in new flavors and traditions.
“Each stall tells a story, preserves traditions, and invites the visitor to enjoy a unique experience,” Arantes stated, highlighting the role of gastronomy as a tool for bringing cultures closer together and fostering mutual understanding.
