The migrants, who forced their way into Ceuta from Morocco in a massive surge, were mostly returned after a few hours of tension between Rabat and Madrid, and criticism from the United States and some members of the European Union (EU).
Perez Triano said the city is gradually returning to normal, something the conservative People’s Party (PP) and the far-right Vox party rejected.
PP leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo, who visited Ceuta, demanded that the central Government end the total expulsion of those who entered irregularly the city, located on the African continent.
Nunez Feijoo affirmed that the military presence of Security Forces and the Armed Forces has been increased to nearly 3,000 agents and effectives, who will remain in Ceuta “as long as necessary.”
