The decision is part of a technological transformation of the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI), aimed at strengthening security, transparency, tax control, and facilitating compliance with tax obligations.
The measure was announced following Operation Pandora, an investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office that revealed an alleged scheme to manipulate the e-Tax system to eliminate illegally taxed debts, involving former officials and private individuals.
Economy and Finance Minister Felipe Chapman announced that the new platform will strengthen traceability of procedures, reduce manual work, and close loopholes for potential irregularities in tax administration.
Chapman underscored that those responsible for the fraud will be reported to before the courts and affirmed that the Government will maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward crimes against state assets.
