According to a report by the Uruguay XXI institute, beef led the list, totaling $1.576 billion so far this year—a 4% increase over the previous year’s figures.
Cellulose held second place with $1.33 billion, followed by dairy products, which recorded sales of $511 million through July, marking a 7% year-on-year increase.
Beverage concentrates ranked fourth with $492 million and 7% growth.
Soybean sales totaled $457 million (in US currency), a drop of 36%. In July, exports totaled $1.219 billion, registering a 4% year-on-year increase and breaking a three-month streak of monthly declines.
China remained the top export destination in July with sales of $235 million (19% of the total), despite a 35% year-on-year drop.
Brazil took second place with $190 million (16%) and a 13% rise.
Next was the European Union with $174 million (14%) and a 42% surge, followed by the United States, driven primarily by beef purchases.
