Eight Arab and Islamic countries condemn Israeli violations in Gaza

Riyadh, Aug 6 (Prensa Latina) The foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries condemned ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip and called for effective international measures to protect the Palestinian civilian population.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Jordan, Qatar, and Egypt described these actions as a grave violation of international law and of the obligations undertaken by Israel.

The ministers stated that the continued attacks undermine regional and international efforts aimed at implementing the second phase of the plan to end the aggression against the Palestinian enclave.

They also urged the international community—and the United Nations Security Council in particular—to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities.

The statement called for practical measures to compel Israel to respect international humanitarian law and relevant Security Council resolutions, as well as to hold the perpetrators of the violations accountable.

According to the signatories, such actions would help protect civilians, preserve the chances of fully implementing the agreement, and move toward a permanent ceasefire.

The eight countries reiterated their categorical rejection of any attempt to annex occupied Palestinian territories, impose Israeli sovereignty over them, or forcibly displace the Palestinian population.

They also emphasized that the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace is to launch a serious political process based on the two-state solution.
