Music, visual arts, book presentations, talks, and panel discussions are among the initiatives scheduled for August 17–22 to celebrate the organization’s founding and the centenary of the Cuban Revolution’s historic leader.

  According to the institution’s Facebook profile, its national headquarters in Havana’s Vedado district will serve as the main venue for activities, although the program will extend to all provinces.

  Each region has devised an agenda focused on “the organization’s history, recognition of its founders, and dialogue between generations of creators.”

  Through this, Uneac aims to showcase its impact on the country’s cultural life via interviews with writers and artists, recollections of foundational moments, and reflections on the enduring relevance of the policy stemming from “Words to Intellectuals”—the speech delivered by Fidel in June 1961.

  The event is part of the “Arte Fiel” (Faithful Art) campaign launched by the organization and is enriched by the participation of renowned members and intellectuals, as well as tributes from the National Ballet of Cuba and the National Folkloric Ensemble.

  Complementing these activities is the opening of the *Retratos* (Portraits) exhibition, in which students from the San Alejandro Fine Arts Academy will create artistic representations of prominent cultural figures, many of whom were Uneac founders.

  Other activities will highlight Fidel’s bond with Cuban intellectuals, the importance he placed on culture, and the role Uneac played in building the Revolution’s project.
