Ghalibaf affirmed in a post on X that Trump repeatedly announced possible massive strikes on Iran, to later claim that Tehran was seeking negotiations.
The Iranian leader stated that intimidation, broken promises, and the use of false information as instruments of pressure are failed strategy.
He said, “Admit the facts and fulfill your commitments. We do not need any more theater.” Trump declared on August 5 in an interview with Fox News that Washington had considered a large-scale attack on Iran, but returned to negotiations after, he affirmed, Iranian officials requested talks.
Iran and the United States signed an agreement on June 14, mediated by Pakistan, the first phase of which envisioned the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the release of frozen Iranian assets.
