Guadalupe Frometa, second secretary of the Cuban mission in this country, bid farewell to the friends from the Caribbean nation, who also represent the history of solidarity and brotherhood between the two peoples, dating back almost to the beginning of the Cuban Revolution in 1959.
A campaign remains active in India to collect aid for the Caribbean nation and in tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on his 100th birthday.
Activities will be held from August 13 to November 25 in several states of this country, including a photo exhibition of Fidel, as well as cultural and sporting events.
Cuban Ambassador to this nation, Juan Carlos Marsan, will give a keynote speech entitled “Cuba and its Historical Challenge on Fidel Castro’s 100th Birthday” in Delhi on August 12.
The Tamil Nadu National Committee of Solidarity with Cuba will hold a major event in Chennai on August 13, in support of the Caribbean nation, including a photo exhibition of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, a book launch, and cultural events.
The campaign will continue this year with remembrances of Ernesto “Che” Guevara in October and the celebration of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January.
