Ediciones Union brings extensive offer to Cuban book fair

Havana, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) Ediciones Union invites both Cuban and international audiences to enjoy the works it is bringing to the 34th Havana International Book Fair, featuring 61 titles and over 9,150 copies.

The publishing house of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) is joining this major literary celebration—running until August 16 at the Linea and 18 Cultural Station—which is dedicated to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro (marking his centenary) and the Russian Federation as the Guest of Honor.

Its participation is enriched by 16 new print releases, including 14 Uneac Award-winning works and one Italo Calvino Award winner, as well as *Los signos conjeturables* by Marilyn Bobes, an author being honored this year alongside storyteller Jose Bell Lara.

Uneac’s program will take place at the aforementioned venue, featuring panels, colloquiums, and presentations of award-winning works across genres such as narrative fiction, poetry, theater, essays, and children’s literature.

“Ediciones Union’s participation confirms the vitality of literary creation in Cuba, as well as its contribution to and commitment to celebrating reading as an act of collective construction,” the publisher notes on its Facebook page.

This edition of the fair features guests from more than six countries and nearly 1,300 new literary titles; the program also includes an international event attended by friends of Cuba and Fidel Castro.
