The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli troops opened fire in the early morning hours toward Wadi al-Salouqi, in the Nabatieh Governorate, while during the night artillery shells struck the town of Mansouri, in the Tyre district.
Loud explosions were also reported in Kfar Tebnit, along with intermittent bombing of the area surrounding Nabatieh al-Fawqa. These towns have been the scene of recurring Israeli operations in recent weeks.
The Lebanese Army previously denounced attacks and destruction in Kfar Tebnit, Mansouri, and other locations in the south, asserting that these actions hinder its deployment and the return of the population.
The attacks come just days after a new round of talks between Lebanon and Israel in Rome, mediated by the United States, aimed at advancing the implementation of the framework agreement reached on June 26.
The negotiations concluded on August 6 without substantial progress on the parties’ main demands.
The agreement includes the gradual implementation of so-called pilot zones, the deployment of the Lebanese army, the disarmament of armed groups, primarily referring to Hezbollah, and the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
Beirut demands a cessation of attacks and an Israeli withdrawal, while Tel Aviv links its military actions to the disarmament of Hezbollah and security guarantees in the border areas.
