“Displaying these images serves a very special purpose: to open our space to the community and leave an indelible mark on passersby regarding one of the most influential figures of his time and one of Vietnam’s greatest friends,” stated Claudia Fonseca, First Secretary of the Embassy, prior to the unveiling of the photographs.
In the presence of Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco, mission staff, and young Cubans studying in the country, Fonseca noted that the photographic exhibition “100 Years with Fidel” is a tribute to his leadership and dedication, as well as a reaffirmation of the historic bonds of brotherhood uniting both peoples.
The photographs capture pivotal moments in his life, his unwavering commitment to justice, his profound internationalist spirit, and—above all—his deep, cherished bond with Vietnam.
The exhibition is part of the various celebrations taking place in Vietnam to mark the centenary of the revolutionary leader’s birth on August 13, 1926.
