The diplomatic mission told Izvestia newspaper, “The allies’ steps can hardly be considered anything but a clear confirmation of the North Atlantic Alliance’s commitment to consolidate positions on Finnish territory.”
It also pointed out that the buildup of the alliance’s military presence in the country is clearly aimed at confrontation with Russia, serves as a destabilizing factor, and contributes to the degradation of the situation in the Nordic region.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that the Russian side has repeatedly pointed out the detrimental consequences of such a policy, warning that it will be forced to resort to the necessary retaliatory measures to ensure its own security.
The release noted, “We trust that Helsinki is aware of such signals. However, to date, the Finnish leadership has shown its willingness for constructive dialogue.”
