Argentine doctors graduated in Cuba organize medicine collection

Moreno, Argentina, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine Association of Graduates in Cuba (AAGRAC) is boosting a drive to collect medicines to send to the Cuban people, who are suffering from a severe shortage, Dr. Miriam Nogueira said.

Dr. Nogueira spoke with Prensa Latina during a break in the fabulous “Urgent Song for Cuba” concert, organized by the Moreno Argentine-Cuban Friendship Association with the support of the city council at the Leopoldo Marechal Municipal Theater in Moreno.

Nogueira, who works at the Emergency Care Unit 12 in the Moreno district of Cuartel Quinto, graduated in 2005 from the first class of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), founded in 1999 at the initiative of Fidel Castro to train young people in Medical Sciences from several countries.

The concert, in addition to raising funds for the purchase of solar energy equipment to be sent to the island, also celebrated the 100th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

The AAGRAC not only consists of doctors but also graduates from other professions on the island, and others from other countries who live in Argentina, Nogueira, a member of the Association’s board, said.
