Fidel Castro room inaugurated at Cuban Embassy in Brazil

Brasilia, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) Diplomats and staff at the Cuban Embassy in Brazil inaugurated the Fidel Castro Room today, paying tribute to the centenary of the birth of the historic leader of the Revolution.

The ceremony was led by the island’s ambassador in the capital, Victor Cairo, who highlighted the legacy and work of the Commander-in-Chief (1926–2016).

Cairo also read a message from Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez addressed to Cuban missions abroad, acknowledging their efforts in defense of the country.

According to the diplomat, Cuba is practically at war, yet revolutionary diplomacy—he emphasized—will not yield to the threats and coercive measures of the United States.

Everything coming from the U.S. administration is aggression and brutality, he stated, recalling that Fidel Castro “taught us to fight with ideas.”

The room, which pays tribute to the revolutionary leader, houses a photographic exhibition by renowned filmmaker Roberto Chile.

His images capture significant moments in the life of the Commander-in-Chief and form part of the visual legacy the photographer and documentarian has dedicated to this celebrated figure.

During the inauguration of the space, the mission’s deputy head, Indira Herrera, underscored that Fidel Castro’s example transcends Cuba and reaches revolutionaries across the globe.
