Kaya, who is responsible for the organization’s international programs, told the Anadolu Agency that the IHH maintains its aid operations in the enclave, where a serious crisis of food, drinking water, and sanitation services persists due to the Israeli blockade and restrictions.
The IHH representative noted that the organization has maintained an active office in Gaza Strip since 2009 and continued its activities both before and after October 7, 2023.
Kaya stated that the IHH primarily works on distributing water, food, fuel, and other basic assistance.
He, however, warned that increasing obstacles are hindering the continuity of operations and endangering humanitarian personnel.
In addition to food assistance, the IHH develops educational projects and supports places of worship to help the Palestinian population maintain daily activities amid the war.
