Cuba reiterates condemnation of all forms of terrorism

Havana, Aug 22 (Prensa Latina) As a victim of terrorism organized, financed, and trained on United States soil, Cuba reaffirms its strong condemnation of all its forms and manifestations, stated Bruno Rodriguez, the Caribbean nation's Foreign Minister.

On the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the Foreign Minister honored those who have suffered and continue to suffer from this scourge worldwide.

Thru his official account on the X platform, Rodriguez paid special tribute to the 3,478 fatalities and 2,099 people maimed as a result of terrorist aggression against the Cuban people.

Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on February 1, 2026, unequivocally condemning terrorism and reaffirming the island’s commitment to cooperating with the United States and other nations to strengthen regional and international security.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Cuba does not harbor, support, or finance extremist organizations, nor does it permit their activities within its territory.

It also stressed that the Cuban State maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding money laundering and terrorist financing, applying rigorous international standards for the prevention, detection, and combating of illicit financial transactions.

The International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 2017, with the aim of supporting survivors and promoting the full enjoyment of their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
