During the event, delegates put into practice the message of “moving from words to action” by promoting physical activity and healthier lifestyles across the continent.
The initiative sought to translate health policies and commitments into concrete actions, encouraging the public to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily lives and raising awareness about the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
Organizers emphasized that regular physical activity plays a crucial role in reducing the risk of diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, while also helping to create healthier, more active communities.
The event also highlighted Africa’s collective commitment to improving public health and demonstrated the importance of moving beyond policy debates toward tangible, everyday health practices.
During the five-day session, participants will assess progress toward regional health goals and deliberate on new strategies and resolutions.
The session is also expected to identify collective actions to strengthen health systems, promote universal health coverage, enhance security, and improve emergency preparedness across the continent.
