Iran says it would attack bases in Europe if used to attack it

Tehran, Aug 24 (Prensa Latina) Iran warned that it could attack foreign military bases and facilities—including those in Europe—if they are used to launch operations against its territory, asserting its right to retaliate against the source of any aggression.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated at a press conference that countries making their bases, capabilities, or equipment available to the United States and Israel for military actions against Iran must face the consequences of that decision.

“No country needs to worry about us. However, the situation is different for countries that open up their bases, capabilities, and equipment for use in illegal actions committed by aggressors,” he declared.

Baghaei maintained that Tehran has the right to strike the launch point or source of any offensive directed against the country, affirming that this position is grounded in international law.

The spokesman specifically mentioned Bulgaria, noting that Iran had received reports of US KC-135 aerial refueling tankers—allegedly linked to military operations—taking off from that country.

“We have no issue with the Bulgarian people. But this move is considered support for US and Israeli military aggression against Iran,” he stated.

Baghaei also criticized Washington’s new economic measures, labeling them “flagrant economic terrorism” against the Iranian people.

Furthermore, he stated that a potential naval blockade against Iran would constitute an “act of aggression” and warned of possible consequences for countries collaborating in such actions.
