The Syrian Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction in a statement with the decision officially announced by Washington, and described it as “an important change that opens a new chapter in international relations with Syria.”
The diplomatic institution affirmed that the measure will improve conditions for economic recovery, create a more favorable environment for reconstruction, and strengthen stability and security in Syria and in the region.
It also thanked the United States and the administration of President Donald Trump for the political will that, it noted, made this decision possible.
Damascus further expressed its hope that this step will be followed by new measures aimed at eliminating the restrictions that still hinder the country’s recovery and its full reintegration into the Arab and international spheres.
