The Foreign Ministry stated that the incursion flagrantly violates Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, international law, the United Nations Charter, and the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement.
The text underscored that such an agreement mandates respect for ceasefire lines and prohibits crossing them.
The Ministry called on the international community to assume its legal and political responsibilities and adopt measures that compel the occupying authorities to cease their repeated violations on Syrian territory.
The diplomatic institution also demanded the immediate and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the areas they have entered, their return to the line of contact, and full respect for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Damascus’s reaction came after Katz toured the summit of Mount Hermon, in occupied Syrian territory, accompanied by high-ranking Israeli military officials.
