Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced that Xi will attend the SCO leaders’ meeting from August 30 to September 3 and hold discussions regarding the organization’s cooperation as well as international and regional affairs.

Lin Jian noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the SCO, an organization that, he pointed out, has fostered regional cooperation under the so-called “Shanghai Spirit.”

Regarding the visit to Kyrgyzstan, Lin Jian highlighted that the two countries have maintained relations based on trust and cooperation since establishing diplomatic ties 34 years ago.

The spokesperson noted that Xi Jinping will hold talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to address bilateral relations, priority areas of cooperation, and international and regional issues of common interest.

Regarding Egypt, the official indicated that the bilateral relationship is undergoing a period of favorable development and recalled that the country was one of the first Arab and African states to establish diplomatic relations with China.

During the visit to Egypt, Xi Jinping will meet with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to exchange views on relations between the two countries and on international and regional affairs.
