The children gathered at the headquarters of the Caribbean nation’s diplomatic mission in this capital, where they enjoyed Cuban-produced cartoons, sang songs by the La Colmenita company, and created drawings dedicated to Fidel Castro.

They had previously visited the monument built to honor the Cuban leader in Moscow’s Sokol district, where they laid flowers, and viewed an exhibition of photos depicting the illustrious Cuban rebel, set up by Russian friends in solidarity with the Caribbean nation at a nearby park.

This activity is part of the commemorations of Fidel Castro’s 100th birthday, held throughout the year in several Russian cities and regions, as well as institutions such as universities, regional parliaments, and the State Duma (the Lower House of the Russian Parliament).

It is also part of a series of events organized by the Cuban diplomatic mission in the Russian Federation, along with the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC).
