Meanwhile, Cuban journalist Martha Moreno—also a resident of Nicaragua—shared an emotional account titled “Fidel and his steadfast recognition of the liberation war fighters.” Her testimony was inspired by an exclusive interview she conducted with the Commander-in-Chief in 1996 for the television series *So we were born, so we are, we continue from Verde Olivo* (How We Were Born, Who We Are, Continuing in Olive Green).

Rafael Ruiz, president of the “Antonio Maceo” Patriotic Community of Cuban Residents in Nicaragua, spoke on behalf of the group. He affirmed that Fidel remains present in the actions, resistance, and victories of the Cuban people, highlighting his journey from the Sierra Maestra mountains to the international stage.

I have stated that, in the annals of world history, Fidel stands as the architect of a Caribbean David that successfully defied the imperial Goliath just 90 miles from its shores.

Furthermore, I have denounced the blockade, sanctions, and threats imposed by the United States government on the island, noting that the people keep up their dignity and spirit of resistance in the face of these actions.
