One hundred bamboo plants in Cu Chi for Fidel Castro

Hanoi, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) – As of today, the Fidel Castro Ruz Bamboo Garden blooms at the historic Cu Chi Tunnels site in southern Vietnam, paying tribute to the centenary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

During a ceremony, friends of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City planted 100 bamboo plants in honor of the revolutionary leader, who was born on August 13, 1926.

The stone at the center of the garden bears an inscription in Vietnamese reading: COMMEMORATING THE CENTENARY OF THE BIRTH OF CUBAN PRESIDENT FIDEL CASTRO RUZ (AUGUST 13, 1926 – AUGUST 13, 2026). Cu Chi Tunnels historic site, August 29, 2026.

The inauguration was attended by the Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, Mauricio Alejandro Martinez.

The Cu Chi area is known for its extensive underground network used by Vietnamese soldiers during the U.S. war of aggression.
