Cuban Foreign Minister denounces Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon

Havana, Aug 31 (Prensa Latina) The Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez, denounced Israel's continuous attacks against towns in southern Lebanon, where white phosphorus was even used, in flagrant violation of International Law and International Humanitarian Law.

The Foreign Minister urged the Israeli regime to respect Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the processes aimed at peace in the Middle East.

According to Lebanese authorities, the offensive launched on March 2nd has resulted in more than 4,352 deaths and over 12,000 injuries, as well as the displacement of more than one million people.

The actions continue on despite the agreement reached between Beirut and Tel Aviv for a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops, as part of the negotiations brokered by the United States.
