The results released by its leaders noted that the proposal received 97 percent of the votes during the group’s primary elections, in a process in which more than 700 people participated.

With this endorsement, the group is preparing to begin the next stage of the process, which involves collecting the signatures of support required by electoral law to register formally as a party.

The goal requires nearly 60,000 signatures, equivalent to three percent of the electoral roll, which the organization must meet within the deadline established by the electoral authorities.

Former congressman Juan Diego Vasquez, founder of the Vamos coalition, said the transformation is aimed at providing the movement a permanent territorial structure, defined decision-making mechanisms, and conditions for political sustainability beyond a single electoral process.
