The professional development brings together professors and researchers from institutions in several countries linked to the international EVA project, co-financed by the European Union (EU)’s Erasmus+ program, to build the higher education capacity focused on climate and gender justice.
During the working sessions in Italy, participants are exploring methodologies to redesign and update the curricula of technical and humanities programs, including computer science, information technology, mechanical engineering, the arts, ecotourism, and tourism management.
It aims at including competencies linked to sustainability, gender equality, and climate justice, aligned with the socio-environmental challenges in Caribbean countries.
The “Jose Antonio Echeverria” Technological University, the University of Computer Sciences (UCI), and the University of the Arts, along with representatives from the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba and Cubasolar, are among the Cuban participants.
The project also includes training for professors from the participating universities, who will later implement curriculum modernization processes at their respective institutions.
