The pieces were recovered in 2020, during the Operación Don Pedro II, aimed at locating bibliographical works linked to Brazilian public and cultural heritage.
Before its return, a total of 217 articles we’re submitted to a technical analysis, which included serial publications and other documents.
Among the restored pieces are 162 copies of O Guri, a publication whose issues correspond to the decades of 1940 and 1950.
In order to identify its origin, historical procedures used by the National Library to organize and identify volumes were also examined.
The set also includes an example of the Almanak Administrativo Mercantil e Industrial de la Corte y Provincia de Rio de Janeiro, corresponding to the great year of 1848 and organized and written by Eduardo Laemmert.
The list of recovered materials includes the Almanac of Heroes Commanded by Superman, from 1949.
This institution, linked to the Ministry of Culture, preserves around 10 million pieces, including books, periodicals, manuscripts, maps, photographs, recordings, scores and sound recordings.
