This result shows the Value of Agricultural Production, an indicator measuring the value generated by the country’s main crops, and represents a 9.6 percent increase compared to the 2024 figure.
According to the report, soybeans remained the South American giant’s leading agricultural commodity, accounting for 31.7 percent of the total value generated by the crops surveyed.
Meanwhile, corn ranked second among the highest-value crops, followed by sugarcane; coffee, cotton, and oranges also featured among the key products.
Sorriso, a municipality in the state of Mato Grosso, remained one of the country’s major agricultural hubs, with high levels of soybean and corn production.
The IBGE survey also highlighted the importance of agriculture to municipal economies, as it generates income, employment, and demand for services and transportation, in addition to supplying both the domestic market and exports.
Furthermore, press reports noted that the 2025 data confirms the economic significance of agricultural activity within Brazilian production and provides information for analyzing the transformations the sector has undergone in recent decades.
