“On September 3, a note of protest was delivered to Japan—in both Moscow and Tokyo—regarding the deployment of US land-based Typhon systems on the island of Kyushu,” the statement noted.
Moscow emphasized that Tokyo made this decision despite repeated Russian protests; it described the deployment of these systems as “unacceptable” and demanded their withdrawal from Japanese territory.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, China also delivered a similar note to Japan regarding the Typhon systems.
Furthermore, Russia insisted that Japanese authorities must acknowledge the outcomes of World War II, including the territorial aspects concerning the Southern Kuril Islands.
