Salam made these remarks at the end of the second day of parliamentary debate regarding his government’s performance, during which he advocated for extending the State’s exclusive authority over the entire national territory.
The head of Government stated that strengthening national unity and state institutions would improve Beirut’s negotiating position and enhance its capacity to defend the country’s rights.
The prime minister said, “The more we strengthen our national unity and extend the State’s exclusive authority over its entire territory, the more we reinforce our sources of strength and our ability to secure our rights.”
Salam added that regaining the confidence of Arab nations and other international partners would mobilize greater support for the Lebanese Army and reconstruction efforts.
