Seminar on Fidel Castro shapes future of Cuba-Vietnam ties

Hanoi, Sep 18 (Prensa Latina) Academicians, diplomatic officials, and representatives from several sectors in Cuba and Vietnam affirmed that the legacy of Fidel Castro, historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, is shaping the future of bilateral relations.

At the international scientific seminar “Fidel Castro’s Thought: From Theory to Practice,” Le Van Loi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, wished that friendship and ties between Vietnam and Cuba would continue to develop sustainably and substantively, yielding great results in the period ahead.

“May this forum serve to strengthen international solidarity and reaffirm the pure, exemplary, and steadfast relationship between the two parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba, a bond that remains alive and enduring,” said Van Loi, who is also vice-chairman of the Communist Party’s Central Theoretical Council.

He noted that the seminar’s conclusions, which featured four presentations on different facets of the revolutionary leader, would be consolidated into a final report for submission to the competent authorities of both countries.

He said the event must provide scientific arguments and practical foundations for implementing theoretical knowledge of Fidel Castro’s thought in the future.

Van Loi pointed out that the ties established between the historic leader of the Revolution, whose 100th birthday is being commemorated this year, and President Ho Chi Minh form a fundamental basis for guiding the sustainable development of relations between Hanoi and Havana.
