As the filmmaker confirmed to Prensa Latina, an initial screening at the Casa del Pacto Historico in the capital of Narino department will be followed by another at Aleph Teatro in that same city.
The film, which has already been shown in Bolivia, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador, was originally produced in two parts.
The first part, titled *Hijos de la Revolucion* (Children of the Revolution), explores the expedition and final days of Ernesto “Che” Guevara and his guerrilla unit in the Bolivian jungle, providing an intimate, human perspective through the descendants of the fighters who accompanied him.
The second part, titled “Being a Revolutionary,” features testimonies from the guerrilla survivors themselves: General Harry Villegas (“Pombo”) and Colonel Leonardo Tamayo (“Urbano”).
Since last March, alongside the exhibition of his work, Pistelli has been retracing the overland journey across South America that Che Guevara undertook with his friend Alberto Granados in 1952.
The film screening is part of the campaign “Let’s Give Cuba Back Its Voice”, which aims to raise funds to purchase solar panels for Prensa Latina—a news agency founded by the iconic guerrilla fighter and Fidel Castro in 1959—whose current situation is affected by the energy blockade imposed on the island by the United States.
The director revealed to Prensa Latina that further screenings of the film are being planned—this time in Valle del Cauca department, specifically in the city of Palmira—in coordination with members of the Colombian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba.
