The fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee will be held in Beijing from October 26 to 29, according to the statement issued following the meeting.

  At this meeting, the Political Bureau heard a report on opinions gathered from within and outside the Party regarding the Central Committee’s draft decision on the continuous advancement of comprehensive and strict CPC governance.

  The body agreed to amend the draft based on the views expressed during the meeting and to submit it for consideration at the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee.

  According to the meeting, the consultation process fostered democracy and gathered opinions from various sectors, regions, and departments, with representatives expressing a positive assessment of the draft.

  The document summarizes the achievements and experiences of comprehensive and strict Party governance in the new era, analyzes the situation and tasks regarding Party building for the present and future, and sets out strategic provisions for its sustained advancement.

  The Political Bureau noted that the draft holds practical and long-term guiding significance for advancing Party building in the new era and boosting Chinese modernization, as well as for building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation. jdt/to/idm
