The meeting took place at the Ambassador’s Residence and was led by Olga Lidia Perez Diaz—Director General of Notaries and Public Registries at the Cuban Ministry of Justice, who heads the visiting delegation—and Ambassador Rogelio Polanco.
Amid a busy schedule the group has been following since last Monday, they exchanged views regarding the cooperation project between the two countries’ justice ministries—the first such project Vietnam has undertaken.
Perez Diaz explained that the goal is to learn from the Vietnamese experience during the implementation of economic and social transformations in Cuba, ensuring they are fully carried out with the support of the entire population to achieve national development.
As the Ministry of Justice, she noted, they are responsible for overseeing compliance with the approved changes, ensuring a proper balance between the public and private sectors, and upholding the social responsibility owed to their respective communities.
She pointed out that the changes being implemented do not disregard the importance of the socialist state-owned enterprise; rather, they envision a new type of enterprise—one capable of self-management and decentralized operation.
“We bear the responsibility,” she continued, “for drafting regulations, reviewing them, and ensuring their proper implementation.”
