Cuba expresses gratitude for international solidarity

Havana, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) Roberto Morales, the Organization Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, expressed his gratitude for the repeated international solidarity his country has received in the face of the unprecedented intensification of hostility caused by the United States blockade.

In a message posted on X, Morales highlighted the support shown to the Caribbean nation at the BRICS Summit, the UN Human Rights Council, and festivals of fraternal parties, as well as during public events held across all continents this month alone.

The Cuban party official acknowledged the recognition shown to the Caribean nation and accompanied his message with the hashtags “#CubaIsNotAThreat—the blockade is—and #CubaIsNotAlone.”

“Thank you for the solidarity!” added Morales, who is also a deputy and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba.

Numerous displays of support for Cuba include the stance taken by the BRICS group during the summit in New Delhi and the resounding victory at the Human Rights Council in Geneva—where the blockade was rejected—as well as expressions of solidarity from citizens across Europe and other continents.

On October 27 and 28, Cuba will present a report to the United Nations General Assembly detailing the impact of the United States’ blockade against the island.

The document, titled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba,” will be subject to debate and a vote by member states.

“Despite the extraordinary pressure and intimidation exerted by the US on member states, Cuba is confident there will be overwhelming support for the call to end the blockade during the vote scheduled for this October 28,” stated Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, who has already arrived at United Nations headquarters.
