The decision was published in the *Diario Oficial da Uniao* (Official Gazette) via Personnel Ordinance No. 135, signed on September 18 by the Minister of Justice, Wellington Cesar Lima e Silva.

According to the resolution, the former congressman—son of former President Jair Bolsonaro—was absent from work without justification for more than 30 consecutive days.

The Federal Police concluded the administrative disciplinary process last July and recommended his dismissal; the matter was subsequently referred to the Ministry of Justice for formalization.

Eduardo Bolsonaro joined the force in 2010 after passing a public civil service exam and held the aforementioned position.

He remained on leave from his police duties during the time he served as a federal deputy for the state of Sao Paulo.

The former lawmaker lost his seat in December 2025 due to the number of absences from deliberative sessions of the Chamber of Deputies.
