The National Emergency System (Sinae) reported that 3,512 people received assistance on September 19.

Of these, 2,952 were cared for in Ministry of Social Development shelters, and 560 in Sinae evacuation centers.

Since the red alert for extreme cold was issued, 432,921 assistance spots have been made available through the Ministry of Social Development, along with 78,947 spots in evacuation centers.

Spring is beginning to appear, but the effects of a cold front—which has already caused heavy rains in the country’s interior—will bring temperatures down over the coming days.
