The film is set to reach cinema audiences during the last week of October—the month the group celebrates its 35th anniversary—according to a press release.

The piece has been presented at various international film festivals and offers an insight into the company’s work and its impact on audiences over the more than three decades since its founding by the distinguished teacher and choreographer Lizt Alfonso.

The film premiered in October 2023 at the Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain and was selected this year to close the Havana Film Festival New York in the United States.

The documentary “offers a perspective on the scope of Lizt Alfonso’s dream and how it has transformed the lives of generations of Cubans, with educational, academic, social, and artistic repercussions.”

“That is what sets it apart from other schools on the island; in reality, it is very difficult to create something original without compromising the integrity of either flamenco or ballet,” Dehugo added in comments to the *Diario de Valladolid*.

Following its theatrical run in Havana, the documentary will be screened in Portugal at the InShadow – Lisbon Screendance Festival, scheduled to run from November 9 to December 15.
