In a message posted on his X social media account, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar Garcia, also noted the seizure of various radio sets and equipment used for the production of synthetic narcotics.

  According to Garcia, federal authorities came under gunfire from organized crime members during the dismantling operations; however, despite the attack, the actions continued until the laboratories were rendered inoperable.

  “Each dismantled laboratory reduces drug production capacity and directly impacts the logistical and financial structure of criminal organizations,” Garcia noted.

  According to official data, during the current administration—which began in October 2024—security forces have dismantled more than 2,700 clandestine laboratories and staging areas for methamphetamine production across various parts of the country.

  Furthermore, the security strategy implemented in Mexico has led to the arrest of 67,000 people for high-impact crimes and the seizure of 34,000 weapons and over 500 tons of drugs during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s term so far.

  Sources from the National Public Security System attribute a 53 percent decrease in the national daily average of intentional homicides to these results.
