The track is part of the soundtrack for the Amazon Prime television adaptation of Isabel Allende’s novel *La Casa de los Espiritus* (The House of the Spirits), originally released in 1966 and included on his debut solo album—titled *Victor Jara*—the song is now being brought back to life by singer-songwriter Manuel Garcia.

The Grammy nomination coincides with the 53rd anniversary of the singer-songwriter and Communist activist’s murder at the hands of Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship.

In addition to “Deja la vida volar,” the *House of the Spirits* soundtrack features two previously unreleased tracks by Manuel Garcia: “Blancaluna” and “Himno del pueblo.”

Born in 1970 in the northern region of Arica, Manuel Garcia is a prominent Chilean singer-songwriter, poet, and guitarist, widely regarded as one of the most influential trova singers of his generation.

The musician will soon start a tour—covering Mexico, Chile, and other countries—dedicated to the repertoire of Cuban singer-songwriter and *Nueva Trova* founder Silvio Rodriguez.
